Q: How long does the How To Build a Blog You Truly Love e-course last?
A: This is a six-week course, beginning June 5th. Registration is open through June 13th to ensure you can catch up on lessons and connect with classmates. The last lesson will be posted on July 15th. However, class members can view the content for a full four months, through October 5th, in case you get behind or want to revisit a concept or resource.
Q: What happens after I register? How do I know I’m part of the class?
A: Once you register and pay for the course online via PayPal, you’ll receive a confirmation email welcoming you into the group. You will also choose your own ID and password to gain access to the e-course. PLEASE hang on to your password information so you can easily access our membership-only site – a safe haven where you’ll receive lessons, find resources, and have the chance to connect with fellow classmates around the world.
Q: Do I have to be present for each lesson at a certain time?
A: Nope! This is a self-study e-course, which means you can follow along with the course lessons as they are posted or you can catch up later. That said, if you’re looking forward to interacting with other bloggers taking this course, it will help to stay as up-to-date on the lessons as possible so you can be actively engaged in the comments & questions from fellow e-course students.
Q: What does the e-course entail? How much content is included?
A: On Sunday, June 5, a fun welcome post and warm-up activity from course creator and leader Liv Lane will be posted on our password-protected e-course site. You will log-in to access the content.
After that, a new lesson AND an in-depth all-star blogger interview will be posted every Tuesday and Thursday throughout the six week e-course. Though this class allows you to study on your own at your own pace, following along with the rest of the class is highly recommended so you can connect with others and keep your momentum going. You’ll receive a HUGE amount of information each Tuesday and Thursday, so this was designed to allow those of you with jam-packed schedules to use the surrounding weekdays to really sink your teeth in to the content.
Every Friday or Saturday {depending on the week}, a third post will be published called Weekend Whimsy – a fun activity that taps into your imagination and inspirations related to blogging and developing content. Each Weekend Whimsy post will also serve as a time and place for Liv {and our web master, Michele} to answer some of the specific questions and thoughts class members have posted during the past week on the site.
Throughout the course, Liv will walk you through the process of developing your own printable blogging blueprint, which will serve as an invaluable reference to guide your blogging adventures now and in the future.
Q: How much time should I expect to spend on this e-course every week?
A: Since this is a self-study e-course, the amount of time you put into it is truly up to you. You can focus as much or as little time as you choose on the lessons, interviews and exercises. That being said…to get the MOST out of this e-course, we would suggest reserving an hour or two each Tuesday and Thursday to read the course content and interviews in-depth, connect with fellow students online and try some of the suggested exercises…and then commit 30-60 minutes each weekend to catching up + working on Liv’s Weekend Whimsy assignment. What will very likely start happening is you’ll find yourself thinking about the content throughout the week – not just when you schedule time to review materials. This course involves a lot of creative, soul-stirring thinking that will trigger new ideas and inspire big realizations when you’re least expecting it. How fun is that!?
Q: What kinds of topics will we be covering?
A: As we create your blogging blueprint, we’ll have an overarching theme each week.
Week One: The Foundation ~ Defining Your Purpose + Passions
Week Two: Interior Design ~ Creating a Space That Feels Like Home
Week Three: The Living Room ~ Crafting Authentic Content + Staying Inspired
Week Four: The Kitchen ~ The Key Ingredients For Building Community + Boosting Readership
Week Five: The Rooftop ~ Promoting Yourself With Love {Social Media, PR & Networking in Your PJs}
Week Six: The Office ~ Blogging for Business + Growing Your Brand
Q: Which other bloggers will we hear from during this e-course?
A: Our line-up of experienced, inspiring, successful bloggers will knock your socks off! Liv will interview each one, posting one new interview on both Tuesday and Thursday of each week. Click here for the full list of interviewees.
Q: Will I have a new or different blog by the end of this course?
A: That’s totally up to you! This bulk of this e-course is not about the technical side of blogging – we won’t be walking you through logistics like setting up a post, learning HTML code, choosing keywords, etc. This is about the pre-work – the emotional and spiritual groundwork that goes into creating or renovating a blog to ensure it’s fulfilling for you, reflects you perfectly and has staying power. So many people jump into blogging with very little forethought or self-reflection. It’s like building a house without a foundation – destined to crumble!
HOWEVER, we have a fantastic class web master – Michele Bergh of Be Inspired Designs – who will pop in regularly to provide resources, answer common questions and offer tips and tricks for those of us who are technologically-challenged!
Q: Can I share my password with friends who are also bloggers? Can they gain access to the course, too?
A: This is a membership-only class and you can create a student profile once you register, allowing you exclusive access and the ability to post comments and interact with other students on the site. Another person cannot use your ID and password at the same time or get the full benefit of engaging with others. PLUS – a huge amount of time, resources and people power have gone into making this e-course a reality, so please refrain from sharing your password with others in an attempt to get them in for free. Besides, karma is real, baby! ♥ ♥ ♥
