It seems fitting that on this, the first day of my One Year of Beauty project, all four seasons would meld together into one. It was an unusually cold day, and as I pulled into my driveway in the early evening, snowflakes began to fall from the sky. I noticed the still-vivid green lawns, the beautiful red and orange and golden leaves floating through the air, and vibrant flower gardens – all being blanketed in a soft layer of snowflakes. I wondered if I could capture a picture of all the seasons at once and, sure enough, I found these flowers cradling recently-fallen leaves and a pure white snowflake in the center. Gorgeous.
The snow kept falling into the darkness and, through the window, I caught a glimpse of a the branches on our front yard crabapple tree coated in snowflakes.

I couldn’t ask for anything better to kick off this year-long celebration of all things beautiful.
