I am in awe of the little leaves on this plant
I bought four weeks ago,
from their charming shapes
to their happy-making shades of green.
Some have sprouted stunning purple trim,
like a queen wearing her crown.
I imagine they’re all hoping, praying
for some sunlight or sweet raindrops
or maybe just a compliment.
