Welcome to the disaster area
once known as my dining room.
At first glance, I realize this looks
like a pretty ugly scene.
So, why’s it on the beauty blog?
Because every time I walk by the room
or add another box or bag to the pile,
I’m reminded how blessed I am
to have the means to buy gifts
for the people I love.
I find joy in finding
the perfect presents
for family and friends.
And I know what it’s like
to count every penny
during the holidays,
not sure if there’s
enough to go around.
That makes me all the more
thankful that instead of
wishing and wanting and needing,
I am able to focus on giving this year.
That is a gift, indeed.
