In this age of emails and text messages,
it’s almost amazing the tradition
of sending Christmas cards has survived.
Every one I receive is a comfort;
I feel so good knowing
that each friend or relative
who sends us a picture or letter
has kept us in their thoughts…
and in their address books!
Between shopping and baking
and decorating and wrapping,
virtually no one has spare time
to send out cards,
which makes the gesture
all the more meaningful.
Reaching out to
friends and family near and far
becomes a priority
because we know how lovely
it feels to be on the receiving end.
It doesn’t take much –
just a card and a stamp –
to spread the love around.
