I love all the lights in the trees
this time of year,
twinkling whites and reds and greens
from one neighborhood to the next.
Tonight I even saw a house display
choreographed to holiday music!
But even that didn’t impress me
as much as these trees,
illuminated only by a dazzling sunset.
To the naked eye,
the tips of the branches
looked like they were made
of rose-colored glass.
Stunning!
Each December,
we try our best
to light up the night sky
with row after row of colored bulbs,
but the displays produced
by the guy upstairs
get my vote every time.
