Tonight I saw the movie “Charlotte’s Web.”
If you’re looking for some inspiration
and a reason to believe as you head into
the new year, I urge you to see it.
I had read the book when I was young,
but had forgotten much of the story line
and the underlying message.
It reminds us of the power
that’s in each of us
to make miracles happen.
Take this spider web, for instance
(not difficult to find in my home!).
The fact that a tiny little insect
can produce and spin silk
into an intricate and purposeful web
is an everyday miracle.
If a little spider can do this,
just think what we all can create
by opening our eyes
and opening our hearts
and believing in ourselves.
The movie ends with a song
sung by Sarah McLachlan called
“Ordinary Miracles.”
