Real, live plants or flowers
are a winter essential.
Green thumbs are not required;
I’m living proof.
One green plant we own
has more lives than Morris the Cat.
As soon as I see it drooping,
I finally remember to water it.
Without fail, it always perks back up.
As for the flowers I buy,
those typically last
a couple weeks max.
My bad.
But it’s so worth getting new ones.
When you’re coming in from
a chilly, snowy winter night…
to be welcomed home
by something vibrant and colorful
and alive is priceless.
