I wish I could attach audio
to this picture,
because the sounds of spring
were what really caught
my attention today.
It was 43 degrees
and all of nature
seemed to be rejoicing!
Birds were singing,
the ice melted in
drip-drops, drip-drops,
a bright red cardinal
flapped its wings loudly
as it rushed
from bush to bush.
We still have a long way
to go before the seasons
officially change,
but just as the trees
seemed to stretch
with all their might
towards the warm sun today,
we reached out for
every sign of spring
we could possibly find.
