All day long, thousands of people
line up around the pool outside
the Bellagio Hotel
to see water dance.
The speakers blast great music –
including Elvis, of course –
and the water
leaps into the air
this way and that,
choreographed to each song.
The crowd goes wild,
forgetting that there is no orchestra,
no actual dancers,
but simply water
flying through the air.
Amidst all the neon lights
and slot machines,
it’s a beautiful sight
to see people cheering and smiling
for something so simple and lovely.
