Heavy, heaving clouds
have been promising rain
for days now,
but only this morning
did the sky finally open up
over our neck of the woods.
You could almost hear
the grass and trees sighing
“thank you”
as the rain poured down.
This leaf of Lamb’s Ear
collected the rain drops one by one,
savoring every single
bead of water.
