According to folklore,
seeing a rabbit running
through a field or yard
means good fortune and fertility
are in your future.
However, I’m not sure what it means
if a rabbit stands still
in a field or yard
and just stares at you,
as this one did tonight.
Usually, the neighborhood bunnies
hop away as soon as we approach.
But this one just sat there,
only a few feet away,
watching us
watching her
watching us.
I’m gonna assume
bonding with a bunny
can only bring good luck.
