The clouds called out to me this evening,
catching my eye every time
I passed the kitchen window,
changing color
with every passing minute,
pulling me to them like a magnet.
I had to finally walk
into my backyard
to see them
in all their glory.
The rest of the sky
was a hazy gray,
but this patch of clouds
had an iridescent hue,
haunting gold and blue.
Mesmerizing.
