Where I live,
the temperatures are beginning to dip
and soon, amber leaves will be floating
to the ground.
I’m grieving the loss of summer a bit,
even before it’s officially gone,
and consciously trying to
cherish warm-weather sightings
like this brilliant hot pink bloom.
Somebody once said,
‘you don’t know what you’ve got
’till it’s gone.’
But I’d rather know and celebrate
what I’ve got
while it’s still here.
