While visiting family in Dallas,
we checked out an indoor holiday ice display
created by some of the world’s
most talented ice sculptors,
who flew in from China
and for five weeks created
a detailed, dazzling art display
out of frozen water.
My favorite was this angel,
towering high above us
with open wings.
This man-made beauty
reminds me
of the nature-made ice angel
I spotted last spring
at my doorstep.
Knowing the amount of work
that went into creating the sculpture above
makes me marvel even more
at that little ice angel on my sidewalk
and wonder how she came to be.
