As soon as I hopped
in my car this morning,
I noticed these brilliant colors
on the floor mat next to me,
like giant rainbow footprints.
The sunlight
beaming through my driver’s window
must have bounced off something
reflective to create this spectacle,
though I couldn’t figure out
what or where.
It struck me
as both funny and fabulous,
since this project started with me
noticing a rainbow in the sky
and wondering how often
I forget to look UP
to see life’s magic show.
Guess if I want to see a rainbow,
I should remember to look DOWN, too.
Real beauty has no rules.
