There is always something more
than meets the eye.
I was admiring some flowers
during a trip to Savannah, GA
when I had the distinct feeling
something was watching me.
True, it’s said to be the most
haunted city in America,
but I wasn’t being stalked by a ghost.
Rather, a closer look at the flowers
revealed a little lizard
camouflaged in a jungle of stems.
I was startled to see him,
hiding there in plain sight,
watching me watching him,
reminding me life’s greatest surprises
are often just waiting for us to notice them.
