Last week, my six-year-old was
“Star of the Week” at school.
Today he brought home
a book of pictures
that each of his classmates
drew of him.
I just want to bottle up
the innocence and confidence
that each of these budding artists
possess right now,
not to mention their artistic skills.
I mean, in their own unique way,
each of the drawings
actually looks like my happy boy.
In the years to come,
I know most of these kids
will put away their crayons
for fear their art isn’t
good enough or cool enough,
even though the world
could never have enough
unbridled creativity and passion.
There is always room for more.
