People here
are mumbling and grumbling
about snow in April.
They’re tired of
winter coats
and icy roads
and slushy sidewalks.
Believe me, I get it.

But this spring snowfall
(which happens nearly every year)
is not only a beautiful sight
that will melt within days;
it’s the very reason
we so heartily embrace
every single day we get
of green grass,
warm sunshine
and 10,000 glistening lakes.
And it forces us year after year
to look for silver linings,
to love what is,
and to laugh along with Mother Nature.
