Our community braved the unseasonably cool weather
to be a captive audience
for our elementary school students,
eager to end the school year
on a high note.
Each grade stood on the hill
and proudly performed
a special song,
beaming whenever the crowd
clapped and cheered.
It warmed my heart
to see hundreds of grownups
supporting these kids
and making them feel like superstars.
