This pink hydrangea is obviously lovely,
but I think it would lose some of its luster
without that backdrop
of summer-green leaves.

Flowers get all the glory,
leaves get little to none.
Yet they’re just as important,
providing a perfect canvas
for Mother Nature’s art in bloom.

In fact, sometimes the leaves
are just as miraculous.
These leaves look like they’ve been
expertly cut with
jagged scrapbooking scissors;
just look at that edging!
Isn’t it mind-boggling to think
that those naturally grew that way?
No glue, no scissors, no plastic.
Just all-natural beauty.
