It’s hard to wrap my head around
the fact that this batch of bulbs
will spend the next few months underground
and then reappear next spring
as big, lipstick-red tulips.
That’s quite a transformation!
Makes me ask myself,
“What am I planting today
that will blossom
months from now?”
I like immediate gratification,
but some things take time,
some grow best underground,
some prefer to hibernate
before emerging
as a dream come true.
