This is the sweet face
of the world’s neediest dog.
Adopted at six months old,
she was our first baby.
But we were her fourth family
and we’ll never know why.
Perhaps because she requires
so much TLC.
Nearly nine years later,
I sometimes think
she has yet to realize
that she’s here to stay,
that we love her
even when she drives us crazy,
that wherever we are,
she’s home.
