My little guy loves to toddle over to our living room window

and find the moon in the night sky,
a glowing sphere of light hanging from the stars.
Last night, he couldn’t take his eyes off it.
Not only was it the first full moon of 2010,
but also the biggest and brightest moon of the year.
It was at its closest point to the earth, called pedigree,
which made this full moon larger than life.

Meanwhile, Mars was hanging out nex to the moon,
casting a reddish hue across the wing-like clouds,
performing a magic show in the sky.
