As I watched the Oscars on Sunday night,
it struck me how so many of the designer dresses
were made to look like flowers in bloom.
Wonderful and stunning attempts,
but there is no runway or red carpet
that can replicate the high fashion of real flowers.
Take these daffodils, for example.
Layer after layer
of butter-kissed perfection,
with natural curves and scallops,
and paper-thin petals
held up by sturdy, spiraling, gorgeous-green stems.
I loved a lot of the floral-inspired Oscar gowns,
but nothing compares to the real thing.
