If I’d had this punk rock tutu when I was a little girl, I never would have taken it off. In fact, I kind of want one for myself now! But it’s a little small (it fits sizes 18 months – 3T). It’s made with love by Jill from LollyBopBaby Designs. This “Punk Princess” set – tutu and coordinating headband bow – is one of the top sellers at LollyBopBaby Designs, which Jill launched after being laid off from her accounting job in 2007. I often say the universe is usually more than happy to give us a giant nudge when we’re not willing to make a move or even aware it’s time to do so. Losing a job is never fun, but I’m so glad it motivated Jill to unleash her creativity and share it with the world.
Jill says she always has colors and designs whirling around in her mind, and loves to envision the tiny dancers who will one day wear her outfits or accessories. Hard to imagine someone with such creativity and passion for her handmade creations sitting in a finance office, isn’t it?!
Her story reminds me of that hit song by LeeAnn Womack called I Hope You Dance. She sings, “I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean; whenever one door closes I hope one more opens. Promise me that you’ll give faith a fighting chance; and when get you get the choice to sit it out or dance, I hope you dance.” Got a little one in your life who’d love to whirl and twirl around in this outfit?
