I love how downtowns are like mixed media artwork;
one layer on top of another,
a stunning collage of brick and glass and metal
with historic buildings reflected in shiny skyscrapers.
There was a time when those old brick structures
were marvelously modern – the jewels of the city!
But along the way, some folks dared to dream bigger
(and taller and fancier),
eventually and continually
re-creating the face of big cities around the world,
each one an evolving work of art.
Beauty Tip:
Find the tallest spot in your hometown and head all the way up,
as high as you can go, till you’re sitting on top of the world.
Then sit back & enjoy the view.
