You know how it feels
when you bake or buy the best cake ever
and think it’s been gobbled up by you and everyone else present?
You wish there was more, but you’re glad to have had a taste.
And then, late at night, you discover
there actually is another piece wrapped in foil, hiding in the fridge?
It’s such a sweet surprise it nearly bowls you over!
That’s how I felt this weekend, creating my first mixed media collage.
I didn’t know I had it in me,
nor how happy it would make me feel
as I painted.
I’m calling this rookie piece “Persevereance”
and I sure hope you like it.
