I am head over heels for summer
and the way it offers sweet surprises
around every corner,
from sun-worshipping geraniums
tucked inside a weathered wooden planter
to a rain-kissed, pure white peony.
And the symphony of summer sounds always wows me;
birdsongs, crickets at dusk, warm breezes, rustling leaves.
If it’s possible to have an affair with a season,
I’m guilty.
Beauty Tip: My friend Heather has started a blog! She’s in high school and on her summer break, she’s decided to chronicle her summer memories in six words each day. And then she adds a little more description afterwards. It’s charming and reminds me of summer days when I was younger. Check it out!
