I was digging through old photos for my publisher today when I stumbled upon this gem from seven years ago featuring my great aunt Jeanne. I have absolutely no idea why she’s wearing that mask, but I’m not at all surprised to see her in it. Jeanne never let age snuff out her sense of humor, her sense of style or her sense of wonder about the world around her. She was so kind, so sharp and so…fun!
Today, I was listening to an Abraham Hicks audio book in which they talked about people who dread aging. It’s no surprise, they said, given all the negative messages about aging we hear every day. Most people fully expect their health and happiness to deterioriate with each passing year. But if thoughts creates reality, that’s a horrible message to be sending to ourselves! Jeanne obviously never got that memo. In her mind, each passing year just provided more opportunities for learning and laughing. Jeanne passed away a couple of years ago, but I’m so glad to have pictures and memories like these to remind me of her vitality and zest for life. I want to be just like her when I grow up.
