How fun is this!? My mom and I rarely get to spend time together – just the two of us, doing something we both love. So, it was a special treat to hang out yesterday afternoon at the annual Junk Bonanza, where 100+ vendors showcased their vintage, antique and repurposed wares. The place was packed on its first day (it’s happening about 20 miles south of Minneapolis through Saturday). It was fun to see one woman after another carrying out their special finds – big tin mirrors, weathered tables, antique artwork, and great jewelry.

I love the look, feel and vibe of old treasures and had a ball taking pictures. I didn’t leave empty handed; I got a handful of old ink stamps, a sketchbook made out of an old record cover from Welle Designs, and – my favorite of all – a custom necklace that I made with the help of Simply Vintage. They had a huge booth with bins full of beads and charms, so I pulled together some of my favorites – a piece of a vintage ruler with the number 11 on it (my fave number!), an old typewriter “L” key for Liv, a pretty stone, a dog tag handstamped with “BELIEVE” (my favorite word!) and the word beauty. I just adore it!

So, the Junk Bonanza was great! Next up: a day at the Creative Connection event…I’ll let you know how it goes!
