I am not a knitter, but have great respect for those of you who can take a ball of yarn and somehow, someway turn it into a divine hat or fabulous bag. Years ago, I signed up for a weekly knitting class with friends. To put it mildly, I crashed and burned. While the others were whipping up gorgeous scarves and newborn hats, I was looping and purling and losing my mind. It was fun to gab with my girlfriends, but I made absolutely nothing!
On the recent artists’ retreat I attended in northern Minnesota, we all took a walk to a nearby yarn store. Yep, there was a yarn store right there in the middle of nowhere. How could we not check it out!? That’s adorable Lori above, walking to the second floor of the shop. Two stories of yarn, people. Didn’t matter that most of us can’t knit; we loved all the yummy colors and textures!
Aren’t those gorgeous yarns!? Since I couldn’t knit a special treat for you (and, really, you wouldn’t want me to), I created a little Liv-style memento for you. The Knit Wit pendant up above is in my etsy store for all of the nifty knitters out there. And below, you’ll find an etsy treasury that I created of amazing hand-knit creations (my fave is the hat-wearing pug!). Click the link to leave a comment for the artists featured in the treasury!
