I fall in love with every old building I meet.
Let me introduce my newest crush:
San Fernando Cathedral – the oldest church in the entire state of Texas.
It was positively glowing last night.
The first bricks were laid in 1738 by settlers and soldiers in the area.
As you might imagine, construction took forever back then,
so the church wasn’t completed until 1749.
I don’t think I’ve ever waited 11 years for anything!
Just think of the blood, sweat, tears and time that went into the process.
I wish the families who first dreamed up this church could see it now,
smack in the middle of bustling downtown San Antonio,
and magically lit up at night.
Wouldn’t they be amazed?
