Happy HeART Giveaway with Leah Piken Kolidas! ~ 01.19.11

How did this happen!? It’s been a whole YEAR since the Happy HeART Giveaway began. Seriously, where does the time go?? I hate to remind you, but the giveaway had a lame-o name-o back then: What The Wednesday. Bad name, good premise: host a weekly contest celebrating the work of an amazing artisan who’s adding beauty to the world with her handmade treasures. 

The very first giveaway in January 2010 featured a print from the totally fantastic Leah Piken Kolidas and…. guess what!? She’s back to celebrate the first anniversary! Leah’s paintings are amazing – so many layers, both literally and figuratively, each telling a story with a collage of paints and papers and symbols and, well, magic. 

You can find her in lots of places, beginning with her online Blue Tree Art Gallery, where you can peruse all of her creations. Leah’s also the feisty force behind the Creative Every Day Challenge, a booming and blooming online project that has artists across the blogosphere buzzing. She launched the initiative in 2008, hoping to inspire herself and other artists to let their creative juices flow, day in and day out. Today, the project’s going strong.
