There’s a mama cardinal at my parents’ house who’s been sitting for weeks in her nest, patiently waiting for these little eggs to hatch. It’s so sweet to watch! I’ve been applying some extra TLC to my own nest lately, though I don’t have nearly as much patience as she does. Hence the changes here on the blog…
The new look and feel here at Choosing Beauty is something I’ve been daydreaming about for a while, but I put it on hold due to logistical and technical issues ~ I’m slowly but surely moving over to WordPress, I’m leaving GoDaddy in the dust, and I’m building a new overall site. All of this takes time. And I am not very patient when inspiration strikes.
As I’ve been pulling together content for my e-course, How To Build a Blog You Truly Love, I found myself growing more and more restless about my own blog. You know how it feels when a certain thing in your house needs fixing? It’s a little stress that lingers in the back of your mind: “I’ve got to get around to fixing the leaky faucet!” That’s how it felt with my blog – little things were just nagging at me. And once I started tinkering, there was no turning back! 🙂
I showed my hubby my progress and he LOVED it, which boosted my excitement even more. One night I stayed up until 3am tinkering and tweaking. And it was a total joy. Working on your blog shouldn’t feel like a chore or a bore – it should feel like play!
It’s one of the reasons I can’t wait for my e-course to start on June 5th. It is so jam-packed with the kind of content I would have loved to stumble upon several years ago, when I was feeling much more disillusioned about my blog – not sure where I was going with it, how to grow it, how to continue having fun with it, how to make it a place that felt like home. And have you seen the people who are contributing to it!? I could cry just looking at the list!
I’ll be eager to hear what you think of the new look, friends. And I hope your week is full of opportunities to do what you love.
