Every Friday, the Little Bliss List provides a chance for us to celebrate the little things that brought us hope and happiness this week. I do believe when we focus on the sweet stuff of life, the sweet stuff multiplies. And by sharing those small gifts in our lives, we help others notice the gifts in theirs.
News flash: the world was never going to end today. It’s a tantalizing headline for the news media – Mayans predict the end of the world! – but all we really know is that the Mayan calendar, devised thousands of years ago, had today as its end date. I’m hopeful that the explanation many spiritual teachers have agreed upon is correct: that this date marks the beginning of a beautiful (but not instant) shift in consciousness – a move toward more love, more compassion, more awareness, more bliss.
Hey, if that’s the case, we already have a head start! Many of you have been paying closer attention to the bliss in your lives this past year by participating – or simply reading – the Little Bliss List. Such a great habit we’ve created here, friends.
BUT – while the world will keep on spinning, the Little Bliss List will not. I started this weekly feature in January, in conjunction with my chosen word of the year – bliss. And in addition to keeping me focused on what brings me bliss each week, it’s been a true joy to have you add your own links, share your comments, send me notes about the ways in which you’re noticing more goodness in your midst. But I’ll choose a new word soon – and I feel like this regular feature has run its course. So next week will be the last Little Bliss List. I plan to review the highlights of this past year – and I would love, love, love for you to take part, too, whether you write a blog or want to leave a comment.
As for this past week, my most blissful moments were the ones spent snuggling with my kids. Tru was sick for several days and he kept crawling into my lap and asking me to curl up with him on the couch or in bed. Meanwhile, I dropped off Ryder’s sled yesterday for his school sledding party and, to my surprise, he asked me to stay and kept coming up to give me hugs – even in front of his buddies. It made my mama heart swell.
So how about you? I’d love to know where you found bliss…or where bliss found you this week. You can leave a comment – or participate in the linky party below through Sunday at midnight central {and click on other entries below to visit other blissful bloggers}. And I’ll see you back here next week for our BIG bliss list reviewing the past year. 🙂
