The story behind it? Back in 2006, I started a blog devoted to noticing everyday beauty, back when blogs were just beginning to sprout up on the internet. To my surprise, the blog took off and took my life in directions I never expected, including landing a book deal. So exciting!

But after a couple of years of working closely with my publisher and designer to transform my posts and photographs into an inspiring gift book set for wide distribution, and days before the book was scheduled to go to press, the publisher’s parent
company abruptly shut down production on all of its creative titles, including Choosing Beauty. I had hoped to find another publisher, but it was not meant to be.

Today, as the world faces so much hardship and uncertainty, it feels like the perfect time to bring it back to life. I’m so grateful to designer Deb Miner for reconfiguring our original design so it’s now available to you digitally. We hope it brings you comfort and hope, and inspires you to choose to see the beauty in your life, too.
