Angel Original (2017): Rescue Mission 12×12
This painting, Rescue Mission, still gives me chills. As with all of my artwork, the angels guide me on every color and brush stroke in a painting and upon its completion, they deliver a message to accompany it. This one emerged over a four day period; I knew it was complete late one evening because they had no more instructions and began reciting a message to me. I typed it out, wondered when it meant, and then headed to bed. The following morning when I turned on the news, I was stunned to see reports of the horrific mass shooting at a concert in Las Vegas. My heart jumped into my throat; suddenly, the painting and its message made deeper sense to me and felt very poignant. Maybe it will speak to you, too…
When precious souls return Home unscheduled,
all the universe bellows in grief.
Wires tangled, circuits shorting, hopes dashed
and we all feel the surge of that life force
bursting through the veil like a locomotive jumping its track.
Flares go up and the angels swoop in;
catching, loving, protecting and guiding
so the soul may remember its worth.
There is deep work to be done.
But please let the mourning know
their beloveds are safe in our arms —
no less a child of God in their last breath
than they were in their very first.
